The Reaper Ii

The Reaper stalks the night alone.
His death-forged blade by all is known.
Made sharp on hades' obscure path,
he lurks to wield its edge fierce wrath.

Men knowing this all fear the night,
each darkened turn or failing light.
When souls do tread his shadowed ground,
they rue the Reaper to be found.

Fear holds each heart, we sense death's chill,
how soon to meet his stygian will?
Will time and light grant us escape
to flee the blade's death-dealing shape?

He bears his brand upon each caste,
the poor, the wealthy, none hold fast,
or spare that night when they are prey.
The Reaper's blade, time must obey!

Just replying to your comment on my poem Reaper II. Did you tell your son that Dad was "supernatural", or didn't that mean the same to him, LOL. Thanks for the comment, Richard
