The Real You

You put on an act when people are around
but when you’re just with me
a completely different side of you is revealed.
That’s the person I’m friends with,
not the one who’s putting on an act.
Are you afraid your new “friends” won’t like the real you?
Are you afraid no one will accept you for who you are?
I will and that must count for something.
So, if you want to continue putting on an act, do so
but know the real you is loved!
