The Raven and the Girl

The Raven flies, and people duck under it’s presence, “If only the people could understand me, I’m not harmful.” The Raven wishes to express it’s feelings to them. “A place to go where I’m not feared would be wonderful.” The Raven flew and flew over every land, every forest, every mountain, But wherever he went, fear struck the hearts of mankind. The Raven couldn’t stand himself, he just wanted to die, “If there was one place I could find.” The Raven’s wish finally came true when he found a lonely little girl. “Young girl, are you an outcast like I?” To the Raven’s surprise, the girl could understand, “Yes, I wish I could just die.” The Raven was sad for this girl, but also overjoyed, “Young girl, can I stay by your side?” The girl smiled and held him close, filling him with a new warmth, “ I would love that.” But life lied… As the two grew older, more people in the land noticed, “That woman talks to that Raven all the damn time, she must abide!” That day, the girl was burned at the stake, but she was not alone, For the Raven burned as well, they stayed by each other’s side.
