The Raven

I scavenge, but clean
I scare, but bring discipline
I portend darkness, but do I have a choice?
I steal cuckoo’s nest, but help it sing melodies in the forest
I sit and croak on a ledge, but bring news of the arrival of a traveler
I am not stupid, I brought up the low water level in the pitcher and quenched my thirst

Great insight my friend. A superb write and a pleasure to read this fine morn. A 7 I now give for this free verse because its such a fine creation.... If for a contest it should do well.
