The Rappers Thoughts

write about what sells
the producers yell
as i ponder the story and the story told well
whom do i obey, the art or the story that sells
which of these two will make ME do well
of course a classic will be fantastic
to be well known my heart says blast it
explode upon a world unknown
phrases which the world has not known
phrases of a world rarely shown
but when exposed to reality
true wisdom and hearts will see
the right words this poetry be
not jest to man or God this glory be
but to words that touch your reality
your hurt, your pain, your happiness, your glory
jest what the producer liked will be in this story
the passion that makes people go wild
that will be this stories style
a style they haven't heard in a while
a good ole classic in good ole classic style

yes I talk to Higher power too...last time I got an answer I was in Nepal in the foot hills of the Himalayas I said "I promise to stop thinking of the glass as half empty! I promise to think of it as half full!" yup I swear I heard a chuckle...and then I heard "And when you realize it's completely full, you will have learned something." HUGS VERY nice 1st poem on soup! Amen to that John. What you write says alot about the "industry". So much is kept from the world because what sells is more important than truth and beauty and fresh ideas, which may not "sell" . Great rap. I want to thank you for all your wonderful comments, John. Love, Robin

Congrats John on "The Rappers Thoughts" being featured. Where are the Beach Boys, Frankie, Paul, Fabian, Connie, Annette, and the gang. I'm not sure all rappers have thoughts. There are some good ones out there though. God Bless. Vince
