The Rainbow

Estranged partner Troubled relations Glue Those two Little angels Making marriage tick Outwardly happy Inside sick Stuck in a rut The road shut Deceits and lies In wedlock ties Misery pours Like unending rain Time drags No chance of redemption And then..... Glimmer of hope Out peeps the sun Dark clouds give way There! A rainbow at last But cannot last Also, cannot clutch Cannot hold No matter how bold At best Can only be enjoyed From afar Like a mirage An optical illusion Two different lives Can never be one The rainbow Still brings some slight cheer Different colours Different shades Seemingly colouring life Of his Lady Husband’s traumatic wife Nothing more Just a brief respite
