The Rain Without You

I see you smiling
As I look down and
Spot your reflection
On the rippling puddles

The rain slows down
And stops completely

I look up at the sky
Expecting a rainbow
To be peeking out

And all I see are gray clouds

I turn to you
But you've disappeared

Where have you gone?
Was this yesterday?
I'm without you
And it feels empty without you

I'm sure you were here
I reach for some trace of you
But all I grasp are the wisps
Of our memories

The rain starts again
