The Rain Is Falling

The rain is falling like the tears of a
million angels weeping for the world.
Water running down the old tin roof
sounds like music floating on the wind.
It’s rhythm flowing through my mind,
filling me with peace and contentment.

Cooling the hot summer air as it
falls across the landscape,
it makes me shiver.
It brings life to all it touches,
the plants and trees cleaned and caressed
by it spring to life.
I can see their happiness as it rains down on them,
their leaves ever so gently washed and bathe.
