The Raging Night

I needed to hide from the monsters at the window, So I became a mouse, To hide in the house, So they wouldn’t see my shadow. I could hear their noises, Their target was gone, It was near dawn, They spoke with angry voices. They stormed away, I couldn’t be identified, I was no longer terrified, I wished I could be cloaked in the day. June 20, 2024.

Congrats on placing 1st out of 35 entries! I loved your subtle, creepy style. It felt very real. I felt like I was the mouse in the short amount of lines you have to convey the feelings. Which makes it so impressive. Subtle and provocative.
