The Race For Hollow Gold
A jungle,
Some would say
A jungle –
Wilder every day
A jungle,
And come what may
A jungle,
Oh, but how I pray
A jungle,
Fighting for a way
A jungle,
A war meant to betray
This is the war, between right and wrong
The war, a feeling oh so strong…
Fighting my way through the fear
Darkness comes, always near
But I know – my heart is sincere
And I cry, a melancholy tear
This is a war, between good and bad
The war, battling the world so sad
A jungle, where I walk
Fighting with the darkness
It’s blackness will stalk
Fighting my way through the vines
Vines in a jungle where all is dark
A jungle, with all the signs
Warring with greed, no ride in the park
Pride can feel like a lowly means
To tell a story of darkest need
Some might share the money in their jeans
But most will covet, planting selfish seed
A jungle, the war between two
Right and wrong – good and bad
The miserly, the stingy, all askew
Revealing materialism so sad
A jungle, fighting a daily war
Between money and what means more
The honest soul, who I adore
Will soon win and hope will soar
Because of decent, kind hearts who know
This fight with materialism shows
What it is to seek a love that is all aglow
With heavenly faith, in a light that flows…
Flowing down from heaven’s home,
There is assurance that love can win
Even though there is materialism syndrome
God reminds that He’s a forgiver of sin
And wherever you go, whatever life brings
There is the promise of light that sings
Reassuring us, despite the jungle’s kings
There is a King who strums heartstrings!
