The Quiet

I had no pain and very minor discomforts, but very little strength. I left my bed when forced to, and returned as quickly as possible. With the looks of reassurance, someone was always there upon my return. I needed to eat as much as possible in order to remain hydrated. For a while, I had no desire for food but loved the taste of water. The few tastes absorbed from foods lingered and were hard to dispel. Most sounds of any kind irritated me greatly. So I sought for sound-free zones, the deepest silence, and for an ever-so-penetrating God-inspired solace. The sweetest sounds were those I never heard. It was 'The Quiet" that I most longed for, and whenever I reached out to her, she embraced me like a blanket. 040821PS
