The Questions
Why does no one care?
Why are we here?
Why should we love if it only results in heartbreak?
Why do we run for purpose, to be only crushed by the crowd,
Killing you with every word.
What is good and bad?
What would happen if the two interchange?
Would we collapse or find new meaning within?
Why do we fall in love like we sleep,
Slowly then all at once?
Why must we be blamed and hurt even when it wasn’t our fault?
Be termed insane and excluded from all,
For only pushing past the boundaries of society,
Only because they’re afraid of what they’ll find.
Why must we lie, knowing it will only hurt us more?
Why do we let ourselves be entangled into the webs of love?
By merely following a voice,
And knowingly signing up for pain that can’t be reverted.
Why do we go into lengths to prove ourselves worthy to those
who we love,
And to those who don’t know our worth?
Why do we kill ourselves with the horrors we plague?
Hoping for a sliver of joy,
and a notion that the other side would be better in every way,
Than the suffering I endure everyday.
