The Psalm of Eternity

Awaken me, O Lord!
This burden of sleep is heavy--
I know I am dreaming,
such a long, long dream--
but I cannot rouse my soul:
it sleeps, sleeps, sleeps and
I can but wait, wait, wait....

I sing to that I AM,
beyond time itself--
I sing to the Lord of All,
the Lord of All Worlds,
the Lord of Light,
the Father of my soul.

Answer me, O Lord--
this burden of sleep
lies so heavy-- I know
I am dreaming, such a
long, long dream, but
still I cannot stir my soul
as it sleeps and sleeps
and I can but wait....

This poem alludes to much, of which I am only partly aware. I also seek to awaken and my life has made some progress in this process. Thanks for expressing it so well.
