The Proposal

I tried not to love you
 but I failed miserably
I tried not to kiss you
 but when you kissed me
for the very first time;
when I felt your lips gently
brushing up against mine
they rendered me helpless.

I tried hard to hide my emotions
but not a tear I cried did you not
wipe from my eyes.
I tried to act proud and thought
I didn't need anyone
that I was happy with my life
that's when you got
down on one knee looked me in
the eyes placed a ring on my finger
and soon after became the one true love
of my life....

Well, I like that it's short. I can't tell if this is a happy or a sad poem. I think might be why no one's really commented on it. You're just stating a fact about something that happened to you in your life. Hopefully, this was a happy one. Then again maybe I'm just looking at it too deeply which in that case means I'm a dumbass so you can forget everything I wrote before.

You give me lots to think of Gabe when you comment on my poetry; It never happened wishful thinking sort of deal; but you caught that ...and no it's not happy it's sarcasm
