The Propeller Of My Greatness
"The wound is the place where the light enters you"
— Rumi
..................................
So much bleeding, yet no blood,
From heartbreaks I have suffered.
They are only saints when far from my bed,
But become demons after feasting on me in bed.
I was turned into an abandoned dog,
That waited in vain for a love that has flown away,
Yet another unreciprocated love dissolving into thin air,
Leaving a wound you thought no balm could heal.
But that heart severally broken
Still holds love that shines like pure gold,
With it I will still love even more
Erasing all scars of past disappointments.
It's that shattered heart that will still shine the light,
That will guide my steps in the dark,
As I trudge on the pathway of success,
Without a faltering too heavy to control.
Wait at the abyss of sorrow
As I climb to the top of the success ladder,
Those wounds you inflicted became the propeller
That lifted me into the greatness my life now embraces.
