The Promise

Make me a promise then keep it or don't
Whether you do means we will or we won't
I have heard many they come and they go
How often have I heard "I love you so"

Tell me you love me and I will believe
I see in your eyes that you can't deceive
Though I admit that my eyes are some filled
With all the hope that my love has instilled

Life is long and the trials more than few
But I can do this and do it with you
Words we say now will echo tomorrow
Let us choose joy and forego the sorrow

Throw your caution to the devil's own wind
Make me that promise and let us begin

The only thing that matters is the promise to stay together and face anything no matter what happens. Beautifully expressed. Congratulations on your win Larry :)
