The Principles of Home
big bear carcass
lying in the street
as i smoke my last homemade cigarette;
how can i fix you?
caught between identities
and the pursuit of ease;
i am here
i am now.
smoke tugging at the roots of my throat
with bitter wind burning my fingertips.
be here now,
just be here now.
