The Priceless Prize In My Surprise

Caught up in whirlwinds that won’t relent Swept afloat from comfort zones Spun around in vortices that won’t repent I shake and quake in my brittle bones Bracing for the worst Expecting imminent death Feeling accursed Out of luck, out of breath I close my weeping eyes Clinging to supple straws of hope Spinning faster and faster in suffocating skies Swirling in scope Daring my faith to stand Taunting my dwindling courage to rise Smacking fingers that won’t understand I land on comfy cushions of Heaven in total surprise.
