The Pretentious Musician

I've been around awhile,
Been playin' music
Made people smile

In these years,
Met some rather odd ducks
"Is it Dorian to the C?"
Get the hell ought'a here
Just play and shut up,
Let it be...

No music stands,
No music sheets
To play the blues
In 4/4 beats...

Big heads need not apply
Cause I don't care if you're meagre,
All I need to know,
Is you're eager

The music will take care of itself
I've been doin' this too long,
Not to know,
When it'll cook,
Or if it seems time to go...

But I'll never leave,
If you're eager to receive,
An honest effort to do our best,
That's all you'll need to pass the test.
