The Presidents Hand

*I wrote this for a good friend that worked on Obama's campaign

I shook the President’s hand today
I stood in awe, nothing to say
He stood there talking anyway
This Presidential man

I know he’s not elected yet
The delegates aren’t even set
But here’s a man we can elect
This Presidential man

I’d come to work his state campaign
To organize and ascertain
The public’s voice that had ordained
This Presidential man

I shook his hand, I didn’t speak
My throat was dry, my knees were weak
Before he left, he kissed my cheek
This Presidential man
