The Presidential Thirteen

The Presidential Thirteen
Elephant Herd Debate
By Franklin Price
12/16/2015

The herd was so big
That they split them in two
The four lowest rated
Had escaped from the zoo

Had pertinent thoughts
Early said them out loud
They were quite entertaining
To the gambling crowd

Although quite outspoken
They should go home to roost
Said not quite enough
To give their ratings a boost

Then came the big nine
At least that's what polls say
They presented themselves
In the Elephant way

Three self proclaimed movers
From the Senate were there
Three not so new governors
Who delivered quite fair

A business woman
A construct billionaire
And a surgeon of note
Were the nine if you care

Some finger pointing
Some pounding of chest
Sometimes interrupting
To show who was best

Sometimes some complaining
They had gotten no time
You would think that Wolf Blitzer
Had committed a crime

Somehow they got through it
Scoring a point or two
There was no clear winner
But then that's nothing new
