The Present
Shine bright through dark nights in the presence
of those that smite flames
The eternal flame won't perish for it's your essence
that endures dark games
Keep moving despite change as it is a constant in
this life
Forward motion is inevitable with adjusted views
despite the appearance much strife
Touch the flame to feel the burn so that you remember
what that's like
Some will burn bridges to block paths & then make
excuses for their spite
It's not right but it's a part of life as we're schooled
by lessons we must learn
When temperatures raise, we all sweat but this is a
degree we all must earn
Burn bright like a shooting star for life comes & goes
in one flash
Hard times come but they will go as those are never
meant to last
Take snap shots & enjoy the pictures for life is truly
a great gift
Be present for your movie to play your role & remember
your lines in life's script
