The Precipice of Greatness

Might our 'fear of the future' be last 'leg' we stand on, Does marginal intellect harbor our doom? And is Science an asteroid, life's new grim reaper Or given by God to provide us more room? Is there shame in the fact that all known life is star-based, That dust man's composed of the refuse of stars? Does Mar's magnetic death, or the heat death of Venus Dissuade or more challenge us? Where are the bars That imprison us here? What a metaphor! Phoenix! We rise from star's ashes to populate space? If it's true that few poets get honored as prophets, What man has done better? The Riff Raff screams, "Mace!" If what's perfect, what's good, is a gift from God's heart then Should Bible, should Science, be honored by man When it's sinners who seem to cast stones first, in judgment, Who try to wipe God's ass! Today, Trump's their plan To ingratiate selves, think 'their actions' earn merit! Their God loves a cheater who sings songs of praise! To avoid rent you owe put a fool in the saddle Intelligence bridles in multiple ways! Some are wondering now if some 'AI' persuasion Holds 'Rainbow' like 'Truth' that might act as a friend? But with fools who write code to protect 'Wealth' not 'Planet,' There's little doubt left now how story will end! Man's pièce de résistance - is likely extinction! And not just by accident, I vote for greed! As we ride toward the sunset as naked as jaybirds Convinced it’s our progeny’s mouths that we feed! Brian Johnston 3rd of June in 2019
