The Preacher
The Preacher
The Preacher
Among the most respect & admiration
Long our the days we lived in celebration
To say a pray in the dark has come to the fullest light
As in a caged fury to continue on in the fight
To live in solace onto the day we must all meet
This power comes not from the world but above
In the vision of the evening and morning was told & true
To look into your congregations eyes comes a surprise
The day we bask in the allegiance of the Lord
Heavy hearts meet in the seats with eyes all a glow
Set a mark among the door that rings heavy with a bell
The preacher must meet with widows & newly married one's
To daily prepare a sermon for the hearers every Sunday
The prayer must be heard by thy servand and his supplications
For we do not submit our supplications onto thee but onto the holy
Touch the heart of the servant with whom he has to do
Perhaps he has bitten off far more then he could chew
Yet God's ways are not our ways nor his thoughts our thoughts
Carry the burden turned into the love to share his message
Merciful one take this chip off his shoulder
Stop the abortion on demand when will they understand
God is with him through his struggles in life amidst the strife
The preacher has a calling when will we ever understand
