The Power of Time
I surfed upon the seas of Time
As avidly as would a mermaid,
Ecstatic and confident
That I rule over the waves
As a mighty Goddess
Well anchored in my own principles
But I never expected these waves
To turn rogue
And to smash me down to the ocean floor
Broken,
Into millions of little pieces,
Having to wait for the mercy of little polyps,
As they slowly but steadily put me back in shape
My reconstruction took days, months, years even
And all this time,
The clock kept ticking
Laughing at me, while looking
At what had become of me
But meanwhile,
I learned how to feed my new body
With inner strength, with self love, self care,
And self respect and even with the ability
To depend upon none else other than myself,
Especially there where emotions pertained
So much that
When I rose to the surface
To surf upon the waves of Time once again,
They shuddered and cowered, awe struck,
At the new me!
Time can break, surely,
But it can also be the greatest healer,
Since,
Its magic plays itself in our inner selves,
And we have to be able to open our hearts and souls
To its subtle spells!
