The Power of God
Though in the natural it may seem odd
Fear not
For the power of God
Shields you when the going gets hot
Renewing hope
When hope seems gone
Lifting your flagging faith from the slope
Where you stray in the despondency zone
From which lost
You grope in thick darkness
As though a despondency ghost
Devours the harness
In which your reserves of hope lie
To buttress your blurred vision
When for no reason you ply
The trade of confusion and delusion
Born by nonsense
You can do without
As you recall in your defence
God’s clout
Stands ready
Yesterday, today and tomorrow
Preventing the greedy
From snatching the glow in a row
Where your succor and safety
Lie in wait
Despite the fragile frailty
You increase at your life’s gate.
