The Poet's Song

Repetitious literature
Keeps flowing thru my mind
But somehow the words still seem
Just impossible to find

I'll write untill my fingers bleed
Blood, my ink of choice
But when a poet's lost his words
He's also lost his voice

Inspiration, has forsaken me
It leaves me barren and waste
Nothing more than an empty shell
I dare not write in haste

Overtaken by emotion
My mind betrays my heart
Like two ships that pass in the night
That keeps drifting further apart

Without my inspiration
The words come out all wrong
It's the music that keeps me writing
To sing the poet's song

beautifully penned, how do you ususally get the words? They either just come or not to me. Reading others poems sometimes gives me an idea. Like your write here makes me want to do one similar. Thought the login issues are driving me crazy!!

Beautiful write. I especially love the lines "Like two ships that pass in the night That keeps drifting further apart." This is actually how I'm feeling right now but hey, it'll comes back.

Then keep your eyes open to what life is about to show you and soon your pen will run across your paper. :) Nice write, easy to relate. Thanks for sharing. Caroline.
