The Poets Feast
From the table of their heart
The poet lets the reader feast
Providing them a banquet of
Emotional delicacies
With humorous appetizers
And delicious uplifting desserts
The main course can be anything
The poet dares to serve
It can come from the loft of happiness
Or the basement of despair
With tears of pain or laughter
Poured out to quench the readers thirst
Poured into crystal stemware
That sits upon the table of their heart
All are invited to this banquet
To taste the many treats
And dine on emotional delicacies
At the poets feast
