The Poem Ever Written

is part of the DNA
of East Cleveland, Ohio
ash and soil
on the boil
of my childhood
The climb before
the dive.
When soft hands,
stroked milky cheeks.
Fresh snow sparkle
in sunlight.
Tears flow
like fresh streams.
Until I tightened
and the string broke.

Beautiful, Timothy! I lived in East Cleveland, too, far a while, a good many years ago.
