The Place of Slumber 10
He reached for her, to take her hand
She gladly took it, too
They wandered from the cave this morn
Out into open view.
All of the animals had gathered,
The ones who sent her there
They just could not believe their eyes
What love did guide from there.
They knew of the maiden’s destiny
Knew not of her love to acquire
They truly applauded the success of her deed
And were happy for her new fire.
For love, that she found, brought her through
The purity, too, of her heart.
Her destiny, now, is no longer hers, alone,
But, is theirs and is just the start.
