So true - the pine tree at Christmas is decorated, joyfully, then discarded. Apparently if one's discarded Christmas tree is placed in the backyard, in cold northern climate, birds will take refuge in such trees. Be well. Brian

A great suggestion for those still using real trees. Thanks for dropping by and commenting. Take care.

Perhaps we could put decorations on a live tree and take them down once the season is over, allowing the tree to go on growing and thriving. I enjoyed your thoughtful poem Dennis, and the pun in the title was clever.

Hello Denis, this is true. A fake tree is better it gets used more. Happy new year. Enjoy your day my friend.

Hello Denis, the environmentally friendly trees last a long than a real tree. Yes save the tree. Trees take a long time to grow. Happy New Year.

Trees provide a home for birds and animals, food for so many, shelter, shade, and are aesthetically beautiful. Thank you for your thoughtful and caring comment. Let's hope many more people opt for environmentally friendly artificial trees during the festive season. "Save a tree!"
