The Picture Remains
I changed my course, not to run after you,
I turned my back, not to turn again,
To see you walk away, with a pride filled heart,
I closed my eyes, as I walked away from you,
It pained my soul, and hurt deep down my heart,
I held hard to myself, not to turn again,
But those memories of our past, haunt me each day,
And your picture remains today, not just on the frame,
But also engraved in my heart, that mark shall remain.
