I find an album with matt thick black pages my wet eyes hungry for each pose of this girl in pigtails with a reluctant kitty, then on a bike in a pretty prom dress, then holding a baby, me turning the pages your smiles become frauds your skin wrinkled, your pain quiet and graceful

Dear Constance, your poignant poem is layered with a range of emotions. Viewing an old family photo album can be exciting, and yet, so bittersweet. You express the passage of time and aging with melancholic beauty, especially the last two lines. So tender so haunting so splendid. Warmest wishes.. ~Susan

Interesting lines! … turning the pages your smiles become frauds…makes us want to look at ourselves and others to see what their faces showed at different times.
