The Perfume of the Hillside
Beautiful flowers covering a hillside
Violets, blues, reds and yellows
Catching the sun
The glisten like a million jewels
On a field of green velvet
Birds, bees and butterflies
Fly and dance within the petals
The sweet smell of nectar
Floating on unseen breezes
They mixing into a unique perfume
It drifts on mountain winds
Through valleys lined with even more flowers
Across plains, rivers and roads
Miles away a young girl sniffs at the wind
She smiles as her senses flare
And she thinks
Her mind wanders to a distant hillside
Her daydreams fill with a million jewels
And the perfume gives her a memory
Memories that will last a lifetime
Long after the flowers have gone
