The Pendulum Swings
With the speed that history's written we can read it in a flash.
Centuries pass in moments; dynasties rise and crash.
Man has lived off flesh of man; his power shores a wall.
He may never see it crumble but in time the wall does fall -
'cause the pendulum swings for everything,
what's here today will cease.
History reads where there is war,
it's followed up by peace.
If we want peace prepare for war kind of takes us all aback,
for if we can't see the enemy - why would we ever think like that?
All the time our neighbors eyes look to what we can be worth.
Don't think that we are different to any other place on earth -
'cause the pendulum swings for everything,
time swings it back and forward.
History reads where there is peace,
it's followed up by war.
Politics and religion - add racial to the pack,
often raise their ugly heads, bringing on attack.
Weakening the inner sanctum - murder is no more a sin.
Society turns to a human waste as the bloody lot caves in -
'cause the pendulum swings for everything,
where political greed does sway.
So where the peace is holding on,
war is never far away.
