The Patient Fellow
Though I am a patient fellow,
I've grown to prefer certain things
a certain way,
And being a hopeless L'Artiste
from the top of my head
to the tips of my toes....
And a soul more concerned
with the weave of life,
a stitch in time....
the finer mechanics of human evolution;
(deeper smiles upon the faces of children)
(when women can actually one day say....)
they approve of men ----
and war is last of the slain;
I prefer the company of love....
and my guitar of good vibrato
and less notes,
every pick just so, each crescendo
a rising tinge of passion;
To my woman I must do it right
(L'Artiste)
just so, I'll hear it if she's happy,
feel it,
when I swim in her soul....
I'm a patient fellow,
teach me (honey)
