The Past

Why oh why did you leave Please explain the rush You surly will agree Your backbone is my crutch I'm doomed to reminisce Something short and sweet You know I'll always miss The way things used to be You keep my favorite times Where my memories reside But you drew a dividing line I cannot get inside I often can't decipher Between fact and fiction Was it really that much nicer Or a lustrous addiction Craving the forbidden More saturated grass But the present, I'm forgetting While longing for the past

A well-crafted poem Anne, a creative way to bring back the past, even if it means living the moment - Well done! - I like it - Mike

Well done Anna, we all look to the past, some portion of it we could change into a better present. Being left behind is never easy. Keep up the good work.
