everywhere people shouting with palms all around - hosanna o king a week passed quickly evil persons filled the streets - murmurs of pure hate kill now the traitor he is not really god - crucify him now Pilate washed his hands a pagan afraid of crowds - the death sentence passed Blood spluttered around think thorns on his holy head - nails pierced his body taunts and vile insults yet his heart forgave them all - till he died in pain yet soon three days passed the father raised him from death - suffering saved all

Victor such a heartfelt piece. I listen to the Moody Christian radio where many Preachers give the word of God everyday. While listening the other day, they had a gentleman on and he was speaking and saying that 97 % of Christians don't not share Jesus story with anyone. I was appalled to hear this because we are called to do so. that is what the apostles did. Victor you have shared his story with many on the Soup. God bless you for doing so and this is a favorite my friend...

This is a perfect poem with Easter just around the corner. There were many evil people, then and now.

You have covered the entire gamut of Jesus' triumphant entry into Jerusalem, His crucifixion and His joyous resurrection in the most touching and inspiring way. Well done dear Victor. Wish you a Happy Easter.

so inspirational, Victor, and so fitting given the Easter season. I felt your passion for Christ as he faced the death sentence--the one that would ultimately bring about our salvation. I liked these lines for they were so descriptive: Blood spluttered around think thorns on his holy head - nails pierced his body. Excellent write, Victor. Happy Easter, hugs, Sara

Awesome poetic take Victor. The Devil's hand was heavy. But his turn is next. I tackled these themes in my poems Golgotha and my latest, Leper Messiah

His willingness to give His Life, no one took it from Him. I can't imagine the love He had for us in while we were sinners, He died for us. Thanks for sharing this one with us and reminding us of His great love and willingness to take on the suffering in our places. Sara K
