The Parade

Today I met with my daughter to swim.We finished at eleven oclock.I drove to a place near the airport named Sandys for her first ever thanksgiving buffet. She used to be located at the actual airport but built this big metal barn of a place a couple of miles away. My brother cautioned go early.I thought I had arriving at eleven twenty. It was your usual late fall in missouri.Drizzling cold non-stop rain on the line that snaked out the door and down the front of the first line of poorly parked cars.Oh well it is what it is I surmised as buttoning my knee length coat and raising its hood taking my place . With nothing to do this is what was on stage. You had your entitled individuals that parked disregarded the huddled masses and went inside upon arrival.A couple considered but after getting the hairy eye reconsidered. The family directly in front of me took the half way route and Cut in line part way to the door.A father with truly the goofiest sock cap I had ever seen stood as his youngest wet headed stood beside him.He never relinquished it.The oldest I took to be a boy At first stood coat over head.Suddenly he took his foot and put it in the little ones back and shoved him.The father said something but didn't seem too upset.A moment later we had a repeat With the middle boy.It was then I saw the tiny boobies and thought the oldest is a girl and he Is showing her preferential treatment. Then she lowered the coa t and the little one called her mom.Not to be outdone the littlest went on to announce to whomever Was listening he'd shot a guy in the eye with a pellet gun. After about what seemed an eternity The line moved till I was out of the rain. This lovely group ahead instead of standing abreast strung out loosely one after another as people who could have been out of the rain sooner could not. Never again.Don't care if it is sixty five with a sky as blue as one in Alabama. Being hemmed in with the unknowing,or uncaring, as a captive audience to the less than the best show I will be wary of any encore. The food was a generous six on a scale of one to ten.I was finally seated and ignored by a parade of servers till finally I asked could I just get my plate. Then stood same scenario at checkout as one rolled silverware not ten feet away for an inordinate length of time. Were you waiting she asked and knew.I could not help myself.I met her eye and said yes for some time. This old couple and I made some meaningful eye contact but I kept quiet till then.

Didn't know that wasn't their maiden flight as was so very poorly ran and had been told it was.All the more reason to stick to my guns and never ever do it again.Love you TM
