The Paper Falls

the paper falls

Bit by bit the paint peels off
Revealing more to me

Piece by piece the paper falls
Underneath the wall must be

Chip by chip the wall's exposed
Though I can't see clearly

Chunk by chunk the plaster cascades
Falling past my knee

Stone by stone the barrier revealed
What a sight I see!

Why would anyone choose to hide
Such natural beauty?

Layer by layer peeled and gone
Now it's plain to see

For she was hiding from herself
Not from you and me.

Ah, so wonderfully done. Bravo! I am glad you realized you have to chip softly.
