The Pantoum of the Opera

My world lies beneath my mask
I see not beyond the stage
My cue beckons me to task
Limelights set me ablaze

I see not beyond the stage
Clapping thunder's all I hear
Limelights set me ablaze
I long for the Diva's gaze

Clapping thunder's all I hear
My cue beckons me to task
I long for the Diva's gaze
My world lies beneath my mask

Thanks for the Wow and Clever bits, Jan. I am experimenting with the Pantoum form and have attempted the bare minimum of stanzas. Maybe with practice I may even send my entry to Silent Ones Musical Pantoum contest. Let's see. Later on I'd like to take on the Phantom of the Opera Story. I've only seen the screen version. You are blessed to have seen a stage version. ~karam~
