The Painted Glass

People love Jesus or so they do profess The outside brings a smile while the souls a wicked mess Judgment thoughts flow through the veins Compassion just a myth Indeed the love of Jesus is put to the ultimate test Don’t let your eyes deceive you Some are rotten to the core The smile is just a front open window to the soul In general most are smarter than given credit for They see right through the painted glass Full of hate and scorn Saying you love Jesus Are more than just some words It is though put into action Spreading joy throughout the world To show a face that does not match The person deep within Is a wasted life of not effect And therein lies the sin
