The Painted Garden
Bright yellow daffodils,
Pansies, and gladiolus,
And chrysanthemums;
Red roses of unique hybrids;
Orange dahlias, peach tulips,
Fuchsia asters, and white lilies;
Blue hyacinths and delphiniums;
Purple anemones and begonias
Planted in various places….
Roses have unique names,
For instance, Poinsettia rose,
Mr. Lincoln rose, and even,
Queen Elizabeth rose.
White lilies will grow to
A magnificent size and height.
Nevertheless,
Be cautious that bunnies
Tend to nibble at
Their succulent petals.
Dahlias, on the other hand,
Vibrant colors of coral,
Mango, watermelon, pink,
Amber, terracotta and red,
Develop into an incredible size
That is remarkable.
And also, silvery green lamb’s ears
Scattered along the periphery
Of the twenty-five foot stone wall,
Gives the ultimate impression of
An extravagant rainbow of flowers
So vibrant and colorful….
What a sight to see!
