The Pain That Traveled Around the World

We share in the sadness.
This unimaginable pain.
Children are not suppose to be taken away.
The school yard is silent
Where has the laughter gone?
The echo of angished spirits crying out to the Heaven
So much has been lost
First dances
Kisses, hugs
Graduations, Proms
Weddings, grandchildren, future generations lost.
What Gifts will we never see?
Innocence has been snatched from our grasp.
Will we ever be the same?
It is not possible!
Their deaths can not be avenged.
No sense can be made of the senseless.
We cling to our children
Try to comfort them
Will the victims have any comfort?
Will the World's tears console them?
Will their loss have been in vain?
Lock away the Guns
Change the way we think!
Our rights are secondary to the lives of our children.
Is not one life worth more than our right to bear Arms?
We can decide.
What choice will we make?

This is really a strong poem, of course Richard the pain already travelled around the world, who would not be very sympathetic and heart broken to see those innocent victims overcome by the death in this very short time of living?

Words seem so inadequate at a time like this.

well-said! i'll never understand why people feel the need to own guns, especially the kind that can take so many lives in such a short time. why they're not banned is beyond my comprehension. your poem expresses this very succinctly.

Difficult topic that sparks passions on both sides of the debate. The sad thing about guns is that it is often the people who want the guns and their protection are injured or killed by their own guns.

This is poem speaks of some very important things, like the loss of innocence, the senselessness of it all, shall we ban guns altogether? I am devastated by what has happened and wish there was something, anything, I could do to help console the victims families! I believe that gun control is certainly something that needs to be addressed! This is a wondrous poem here my friend! I really enjoyed reading this awesome piece this morning! What a consoling and sentimental write this is Richard!

Sorry to be reading this so long after you posted it. I think the way we have drivers licences, we need proper education to become responsible gun owners. Also to me it makes no sense to own assault rifles.
