The Pain of Desire

The dark half of the Moon is like the darkness in my heart A darkness consumed by longing My soul is weak My flesh heaves With desire I am unsettled I await the full Moon’s return So we can be together Without her there is nothing but barren hunger My heart is in the shadows like the waxing Moon While she turns away I turn to despair Who will I express my words to? If she does not return full and luxuriant as I have seen her in my dreams

This one is more profoundly raw which made it more appealing to me. even though you always presented exquisite words in your poems, regardless which one came first ;) Best wishes always!

I like this flow better than the ryhming version. Though they are both powerful emotionally, the imagery is more clear to me here. It is very eloquent
