Thus packed, my simple case What love, lost, does displace Clothes and dreams and needs The waste of passion's deeds And folded with my shirts The remnants of your hurts Still left, such ample room (Enough to be my tomb) Though it can never hold My tattered heart ... now cold. ~ 2nd Place ~ in the "It's A Shorty" Poetry Contest, Deborah Guenther Beachboard, Sponsor.

So much emotion and hurt packed into a fine selection of just a few words, Gregory. Gave me goosebumps... Congratulations on your Podium win on this short list of winners. Sandra

That's very sweet of you, Sandra, thank you so much ... I try very hard to maximize meaning and minimize word quantity, and it means a lot that someone notices, especially such a fine poet as you! Blessings, Friend! :-) <3

The epitome of 'starkness,' a black-and-white nail hammered into a suitcase of sorrow: Congrats on your winner, Gregory. It's a poem to read, contemplate, and read again...and again. Bravo! Best wishes, Gershon
