The Other Side of Midnight

On the other side of midnight
In the twilight of my dreams
I play host to my subconscious
The dark inside of me

All around is shadow
In this place within my soul
Pitch black and void of color
I wander the unknown

Thought in turmoil floats
Upon a blackened stream
Flowing in a circle
To taunt me once again

I struggle with an ego
As darkness holds my soul
This fight to keep my sanity
No one will ever know

Time to end the madness
Awaken from this dream
On the other side of midnight
Dawn can’t come soon enough
