The Other Side
Pain swells within me.
What should I do?
What can I do?
In lapse of time and energy suffice to expend the ghostly trace of a firefly;
life drifts and pauses,
to and from,
here to there and back again.
The pain, though intense, is brief and in a sense, I welcome it.
I key on it.
I claim it.
For when gone so would be I.
Life fades softly from me as the last lingering note of a lullaby.
Swirls of nothingness begin to take me, but I long for it.
Why!
Iridescence covers my being.
It is the light.
It must be the light.
I drift.
Who knows where?
Up? Down? Out? Inside out?
Dimensional? Quasi-dimensional? Co-dimensional? Inter-dimensional?
Always toward the light. Always toward the light.
Suddenly I am not alone.
God stirs within me and I understand.
Absorbed and assimilated, morphed and mutated, ever changing.
Ever growing.
Ever loving and ever loved.
Ever embraced by perfection.
God stirs within me.
