The oracle of the sea

I stand on the bank of time
Waiting for my ship to come
I have been languishing on the island of doubt
Waiting for my ship to come and bail me out.

I have been stranded on this island for many years
On a mission that has already ended for more than five years
Everyone has come and gone, leaving me stranded
On choppy seas with little hopes of rescuing me.

I am not alone;
there are hundreds of us strolling around the town
Each one of us is living life on its own

I have found a spot near the sea
where my spirit is destined to be
and my soul can be free

It is at that spot, the universe
had opened the doors for me
since than my heart has signed an agreement
with the dead scroll floating on the sea.

I could feel the salt water on my skin
And the clouds come thundering beneath my head
And for one moment I thought I was dead
But a stranger was just in time to keep my spirit alive.

I watched the yachts come and go
and ships of all color and crew passing through the village sea
those were not my ship and so I could not take the dip

I have lived on the island with great pride
Struggling day by day to survive
And when the storm clouds come around
We canoed our way to the secret part of the town

Every day I wake up to the sound of nature around me
And I watched the seagulls holding conference on the shore
And the waves battering water against the rocks
and my heart just could not stop

I plead to the universe to let it go
So that destiny can join the show
but when night falls,
you can hear the island people
 entangled in a brawl.	.

I survived on coconut, guava, ackee from the back
and passion fruit and mangoes in its season
and the cherry never stop bearing
and my heart never stop sharing.

I am waiting for my ship to come
And I wait for the day when I will make the final run
Everything will come alive and the oracle of the sea
Will do the final dance with thee

Listen to the oracle of the sea.
 For Mercy has rescued thee
Listen to the oracle of the sea.
And your spirit shall be free
