The One That Got Away

One day, Even your voice will fade To a dull echo far behind my thoughts. And maybe then, Ill be free. Or perhaps, I will go on Hearing your voice down vacant hallways Calling me nearer And you'll stay. Whichever you choose I will not argue. I will not resist. For I would rather remember how you are in the moment, Than a soft ache In the back of my mind Constantly reminding me of a nameless absence Not even I Dare name.
